Truly a Community Project!

Public Garden Gulbai Tekra

Today before we started prayer and meditation kids were playing cricket in the garden. A random shot from Mohan hit one of the kids who was sitting on the bench . The little Girl started crying which scared Mohan a little. I asked the team if the person would like to confess and apologize for hurting Shivani. Mohan came forward, apologized to Shivani for not being careful and we continued with our circle of silence, prayer and sharing.

Chirag and Umang two of our old volunteers wanted to share the benefits of government jobs and the entrance exam required to crack the same. We asked the kids to brain storm over what would they like to  aspire for and if government jobs would be one of the options, if so were they ready for the hard work and commitment required to reach there. Shivani had been observing our kids and volunteers throughout so we offered her to join us. She happily joined us, introduced herself and mingled with the group.

Bimla Aunty, an old lady in her mid 50s was observing our group quietly. After our session she enquired with curiosity and enthusiasm about the kids. We shared our journey with her. She was moved and told that she would be more than happy to contribute in which ever way possible. Since she was getting late we could not talk how could she contribute .The other day she gave us a call and shared with us that kids skin might get dry cos of winter so she would like to gift each kid with moisturizers.

The other day old dadajis in the garden asked us if they could contribute by telling stories to kids. We realized one of the ripples of sessions in public garden is community participation.
